Teacher impressions

We’ve had a wonderful meeting in Sopot. The teachers as well as the students felt really really good. Most important of all, I have to emphasize the hospitality of Ivelina, Iliya and all the other organizers and the host families. We haven’t experienced such a great hospitality. 10 points if I can’t give more. ? As for the hotel, the accomodation was perfect, too.

On the first day the work sessions went in the right order, we managed to discuss all the important things. Our students enjoyed the games, the dancing classes and the volleyball session, too. Meanwhile we had the possibility to taste traditional Bulgarian food. They were excellent. In the evening the disco was even more enjoyable. It was good to listen to Bulgarian folk music and the current disco music after one another, and it was even better to dance to it. ?

The excursions were incerdibly great, too. Etera was a fantastic experience and we also enjoyed trekking in the mountains, actually, for me it was the best part, and of course, the farewell dinner which was really delicious indeed. And dancing together was also an unbelievable experience.

It was great to expreience that the atmosphere is getting better and better in the team. Thanks for everybody. ?

First of all I would like to say - I went to Bulgaria for the first time. So my impressions are very subjective as well. I enjoyed this country very much.

It was interesting to see local people, their lives, to feel the spirit of Central Balkan region, to meet Bulgarian teachers, to recognise interesting things about Bulgarian educational system and to visit ‘Ivan Vazov‘school. It was nice to meet all our Comenius teams as well. This meeting was the fifth Comenius meeting‘‘National Parks of Europe‘‘, so we hadn‘t seen each other from Lithuania‘s meeting.

First day I enjoyed communicating together, discussing together about other meetings, visiting the host school, watching amazing dances of their students. Presentations of all students were amazing as well. Later we visit the most interesting places in Sopot. I enjoyed visiting traditional Bulgarian house, trying rose‘s jam and dressing up traditional Bulgarian clothes.

Second day started with a trip to ‘‘Etara‘‘ etnocultural museum. There were traditional Bulgarian old houses, equipment. We have got the similar museum in Lithuania- Rumšišk?s. So, it was very interesting to compare our cultural heritage, finding similarities and differences. Later I had got many good impressions in old capital city Veliko Tiarnovo. I liked visiting the fortress as well.

Third day was the most difficult for my legs. We had to reach the peak of Central Balkan National Park, which was 1830 m. over sea level. So it was quite exhausting for me as we are the persons from the flat Lithuania, but I reached it. I liked trekking in the mountains. The weather was wonderful. it was warm and sunny. Later we had lunch at very special place. It was trouts’ farm and it was new experience for me as. Evening was a surprising as too. Teachers had taken us to the restaurant with Bulgarian traditional dishes and dances.

We went home on Saturday, it took about 20 hours, but it was not long trip, I had a lot of good and warm impressions which helped me not to feel the tiredness.

All in all, I would like to say many thanks to all Bulgarian teachers’ team. They were amazing, patient, outgoing, well organized and kept smiling all the time during the meeting.

Our journey to Bulgaria was really well organized. The program was rich and educational. On the first day we had a tour of the school and there we had teachers meeting about our meetings in other countries left to host in this project. It was very relaxed and nice. In the afternoon we had an organized tour of Sopot and in the evening teachers gathered and went to have dinner in one of the local restaurants. Other days we had a tour to Veliko Tarnovo and a visit to its fortress and a very nice walk to their national park. We had enough free time, so we enjoyed sighseeing, eating local food, buying famous rose products and enjoying nature around us. On the last evening we had a very fancy dinner for teachers where we danced, had good food and enjoyed ourselves. Everybody was really friendly and we all felt sad to say goodbye. I hope we will see each other very soon. I really enjoyed this journey, it was a very nice experience. It was refreshing to get to know other cultures and to see how people live. I think it is very educational for our students and for teachers too. I am looking forward to the next trip!

We have had our 5th meeting so far. We left Sopot having nice memories behind us and thinking about the next one.
The Bulgarian team was very kind. As Turks, we felt that we were at home ,that is, we have so many things in common such as börek and yoghurt. My students were very happy to be with their host families. We had a great time during the hiking in the park. We refreshed our minds and souls with the beautiful scenery of the park. We had the chance of thinking forward. When we looked behind, we achieved so many things like the importance of being a group, working in a team spirit, getting others attention to the nature and environment.
We promise we will do our best. PROMISE, PROMISE, PROMISE... Remembering our hands touching the great stone in Lithunia.
